Nearly all my works are commissioned pieces based upon the designs you've seen here.
"All commissioned work is designed specifically for the client."

carved from black walnut for a king sized bed. |
" Size and wood species are the two most commonly altered features however drawer sizes, ornaments and finishes can be adapted to a buyer's particular needs as well."

The Commission Process
The commission process begins with you, the client, and me working out the rough design characteristics for your piece or pieces. Up through this point you will not be charged any fee whatsoever. Once the rough design is agreed upon I will give you a price. This price is not an estimate, it is precisely what the piece will cost, no more and no less. If this meets with your approval you will be billed 50% of the total price and asked to sign a contract that binds both of us.
Once the deposit has been received and the contract has both signatures your piece will be scheduled. My backlog of work varies greatly and I will not commit to a time slot or completion date until the contract and deposit is out of the way. Estimates of time frames can be given prior to commitments but they are only estimates because work is scheduled on a first come, first served basis. You will pay for any travel expenses for me to visit your home or business to aid in the final design process should we deem it necessary.
You will be updated as the work progresses. When the piece is completed you will be billed the 50% balance. This is when I take extensive photographs for my records and you will be sent many of these. Because shipping costs vary so widely and because I sometimes opt to deliver the piece myself shipping costs are not included in the prices. You will be responsible for the shipping or delivery costs and the options will be placed in front of you for your decision on means of delivery. I will act as your agent in this matter, preparing everything, so that all you'll need to do is give the contact person a call and arrange billing. I will lay the options on the table for your selection and , again, you will be informed of all of the options.
My job brings me in contact with many good people. One of the most pleasurable parts of my job are the terrific people I am privileged to meet. Give it some thought and contact me if you want more information.
