| I began designing and making
furniture as a career in the early 1970's. Although traditional in nature my works are not reproductions. They are in fact a continuation of the styles that have been largely abandoned since the Industrial Revolution. |

Traditional styles are the
richest designs. Like the classical lines of the 17th and 18th century my lines
are sensual. My designs have the depth and complexity of the early American
designers, the French and the English. If you are drawn to traditional furniture you will be drawn to my work. Designing furniture can be likened to composing music. My skills are my notes. My life has been the pursuit of notes, the pursuit of skills necessary to design and build great furniture. Carving and inlay, the sculpting of a gentle curve, the application of a great finish, these are my notes, my tools, my skills. |
| A furniture maker's life is
an interesting one. I've had very good fortune. I have done work for the Smithsonian Museum. I have written for Fine Woodworking Magazine and Woodworker's Journal. My work has been displayed from coast to coast and I've built pieces for people throughout the country. |

I live and work with my beloved wife at my side. Whatever I am we have achieved together. A furniture maker's life is not an easy path to walk and we have walked this path together for nearly 25 years. |

Ruth and I live in rural
Montana, U.S.A. It's in the Mountains that our hearts are most at rest. It's in the mountains that I am at peace to see the furniture in my mind that I want to build for the people that support me, the people that commission my work. |
